Dr Sara Matley is a member of the BPS Faculty for Children and Young People and The Paediatric Psychology Network and has over 10 years experience within paediatric clinical psychology.
Since 1998, Dr Matley has played a pivotal role in the development of regional Paediatric Psychology services. Clinically, she has extensive experience with respect to the assessment and treatment of children and their carers with emotional and behavioural difficulties, associated with acute and long term conditions. Currently, Dr Matley leads a regional psychological service into Paediatric Cardiology and Paediatric Intensive Care Units.
Therapeutically, Dr Matley offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centred approaches and Personal Construct Therapy.
In addition, Dr Matley provides clinical supervision to a variety of healthcare professionals and has extensive experience of teaching, training, group facilitation and consultancy to teams within the NHS and national charitable organisations. Dr Matley has also lectured at Leeds University and regularly contributes to the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme at Leeds University.
