Alison Wardle

Alison Wardle is a member of Socrates SMART Team who assess children and young people with complex presentations. Alison's expertise is in the assessments for children and young people who present with Autism and ADHD.

​

Alison is a qualified teacher who obtained her Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education from Durham University in 1995.

​

Alison has worked in schools for 26 years. She has experience of working with all age groups in a number of mainstream schools in the Kirklees area. Alison taught Geography and History up to GCSE level for 8 years and was Head of Year responsible for a six-form entry year group for 4 of those years. During this time Alison was responsible for the pastoral care of the students in the year group. This entailed liaising with parents, dealing with the behaviour, safeguarding and attendance issues of pupils and co-ordinating support for pupils with special educational needs. Alison then moved schools and taught English for nearly 5 years, specialising in GCSE C/D borderline pupils.

For the last 14 years of her teaching career, Alison worked in an infant school job sharing a reception class and undertaking PPA cover work within different year 1 and 2 classes.

​

Alison has worked with the Socrates Team since September 2021 which has enabled her to develop her clinical experience with young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
