Assessment and Therapy
Dr Rachel McCormick has experience of working with both adults and children presenting with emotional and behavioural difficulties e.g. self-harm, low mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties and complex mental health problems. Dr McCormick’s previous experience includes being clinical lead within a provision of services to looked after and adopted children, and providing the psychological input to a multi-disciplinary service for adults and young people presenting with early onset psychosis. Dr McCormick has many years of experience of offering training and consultation to Local Authorities and other organisations on a range of psychological issues (e.g. working with children with attachment difficulties, working with vulnerable young people and mental health).

As Managing Director, Dr McCormick's main role is leading the service and overseeing development. However, she continues to see a small number of therapy cases.

Legal Work
Dr McCormick has obtained the Expert Witness Certificate from Cardiff University in 2008 and is experienced in assessing both adults and children covering a range of issues. Dr McCormick has over 15 years of experience in this area and has given evidence in court on numerous occasions. Dr McCormick continues to undertake a small number of legal assessment cases within public family law proceedings. Dr McCormick has a particular expertise in the assessment of vulnerable young parents, sibling relationships, assessing children in relation to placement options (e.g. adoption, foster care), separation issues and in disrupted adoption placements.
