Dr Gemma Horridge

Thank you the whole experience has been professional, understanding and has completely changed how I feel. It has acknowledged and validated my feelings and allowed me to move forwards and re-focus on myself and what is important.

Dr Gemma Horridge qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2008. She is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) working within the NHS. She works with children, young people and families presenting with a range psychological difficulties including anxiety, behavioural difficulties, low mood, relationship difficulties and experience of trauma.

Gemma has an integrative approach to therapy drawing on a range of psychological models and theories including cognitive behaviour therapy, behavioural therapy, systemic working and attachment theory. She likes to tailor interventions to individual and family need. When it's helpful to do so, Gemma works in a holistic way with other professionals supporting her clients. She uses her training and experience in specialist approaches such as the Parent-Child Game, Incredible Years and Video Interaction Guidance to support parents and children to understand and strengthen their relationships and enhance communication. Gemma is currently training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing to further enable her to support clients who have experience of trauma.
