Genevieve qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2020 and has been working in NHS CAMHS services since. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. She has experience of working individually with both adults and children, as well as working with parents and carers. Within CAMHS, Genevieve has worked in both therapeutic teams and in Neurodevelopmental Assessment services and is experienced in adapting her work to suit the needs of children and adults with autism or ADHD. Genevieve has a specific interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. She has worked in specialist teams focusing on trauma and has undergone specialist therapeutic training in this area, including Trauma Focused CBT (TF CBT) and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).
Genevieve adapts her therapeutic work depending on individual needs and preferences. She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and continues to develop her practice, currently completing additional training to work towards BABCP accreditation. Genevieve also draws on systemic models, as well as third wave approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She works with a range of presentations, including low mood, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Genevieve is a warm and thoughtful practitioner who takes time to understand each individual during therapy. She is able to balance difficult therapeutic work with light-heartedness and humour, ensuring that collaboration and mutual respect and understanding are at the centre of her work.
