Dr Katie Hudson

The support and therapy I have received has been outstanding. Thank you so much for listening to and guiding me through this experience.

Dr Katie Hudson qualified as a Forensic Psychologist in 2013. She offers a warm, compassionate and personable approach to therapy and she aims to draw upon a person's strengths as a tool to relieve distress. She strives for the individual to feel empowered and part of their therapeutic journey by including them in the formulation of their difficulties and the direction and pace that their therapy takes. Katie places focus on the therapeutic relationship and processes in a transparent way in order to create a collaborative and supportive environment for change.

She also currently works in a consultancy role within the NHS where she adopts a systemic approach to supporting staff teams who work with complex individuals who have a history of trauma. Katie is a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society and is registered with the Health and Care Professionals council. Katie's training and experience covers a broad range of psychological difficulties with specific expertise in the area of attachment difficulties and early trauma including those who might attract a diagnosis of personality disorder.

Katie has developed and delivered a range of therapeutic interventions for both males and females in inpatient settings including those targeting emotional management, anxiety and substance misuse. She draws from a number of psychological approaches in order to tailor the therapy to the individual's specific needs. These include cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, compassion focused therapy, schema informed therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing.
